West Alabama Places 11th in Argonaut Cup

PENSACOLA, Fla.– After a record setting day against some of the region's stiffest competition yesterday, the West Alabama Men's Golf team wrapped the Argonaut Cup hosted by the University of West Florida at the Pensacola County Club with an 11th place finish today.
 
UWA (290-297-301) shot a 24-over 888 on the Par-72 course which extends 6,815 yards during the three-day tournament. UWF (275-276-279) shot a 31-under 833 to win the tournament as the hosts.
 
Brannan "Boo" O'Pry (70-72-74) shot even par on the tournament which tied him for 24th. Alex Riley (70-75-76) tied for 42nd at five-over 221 on the day, Andrew Cronwright (76-74-73) finished with a seven-over 223, Korlan Trull (74-76-85) both a 19-over 235 and Mark Johnson (83-84-78) shot a 29-over 245.
 
West Florida's Chandler Blanchet (66-66-69) finished with the best individual score at 15-under on 201 strokes.
 
Other teams participating include: Limestone College, Delta State, North Alabama, Arkansas Tech, Lee, Valdosta State, Missouri-St. Louis, Saint Leo, Southwestern Oklahoma State, West Georgia, Spring Hill College and Montevallo.
 
Next on the docket for West Alabama is the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. April 22-24.
