Manseri Earns GSC Player of Week Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sarah Manseri, a junior on the West Alabama women's tennis team has won Gulf South Conference women's player of the week or her performance last week.

From Poulx, France, Manseri defeated NCAA Division I Rikeetha Pereira of Southern Miss, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. In a pair of exhibition matches against Division I opponents, Manseri won at No. 2 singles at Jacksonville State and at No. 2 doubles at Alabama State.

Manseri transferred to UWA from Eastern Florida State College, the fifth-ranked junior college program by ITA. Her ITA national ranking for singles was 16^th as a junior college sophomore.

After hosting Central Alabama today, the UWA women go to Division I South Alabama for their final exhibition match on Feb. 13.
