UWA Softball Series vs. Mississippi College Changed

LIVINGSTON, Ala.– Due to poor field conditions at the UWA Softball Complex, the Gulf South Conference Series with the visiting Mississippi College Choctaws has been altered to just a doubleheader Saturday, April 20.
 
Tonight's 6 p.m. matchup has been canceled and with Easter being on Sunday, the teams will avoid shifting the series to playing any games on Sunday and will meet for a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 2 p.m. with the second game at 4 p.m.
 
UWA (25-17, 14-9) enters the weekend on a season high five game winning streak after sweeping Delta State on the road last weekend in GSC action. 
 
Alli Craft has the team's top batting average at .364 and leads the squad with 31 RBI with five doubles and five home runs. Kierra Hague is batting .352 has a team-best six home runs, while Kacy Noland (.354) leads the team with seven doubles and 25 runs scored.
 
Nora Keehn has pitched 142.2 innings this season for the Tigers with 67 strikeouts and 14 complete games in 23 starts.
 
Mississippi College (30-10, 13-7) has won eight straight games and outscored conference foe Shorter 23-0 last weekend. 
 
Carly Crawford leads MC with a .375 batting average, pacing the squad in hits (45), doubles (13), home runs (7) and RBI (38). She also the Choctaws the squad with a .675 slugging percentage. 
 
Cori Cooper (11-6, 1.41 ERA) leads the league with 9.7 strikeouts per game and is second in the conference with 145 total punchouts. She has a league-high five shutouts and opponents are hitting only .177 off the senior. Hannah Creel (14-3, 1.83 ERA) has twice been named GSC Freshman of the Week and leads the team with 118.2 innings pitched and is second with 101 strikeouts.
