CACC Duo Transferring to UWA

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Morgan Bishop and Olivia Hayes, both women's tennis players from Central Alabama Community College, are transferring to the University of West Alabama to continue their collegiate tennis careers.

"Morgan and Olivia are great additions to our women's team," UWA head coach Jeff Beaman said. "They come from a very strong junior college program, and it is great to add talent from the state of Alabama."

Bishop and Hayes helped lead CACC to the 2018 and 2019 Alabama Community College Conference team championships and national rankings of No. 10 in 2018 and No. 21 in 2019.

Bishop, from Muscle Shoals, Alabama,  finished the 2019 season as the runner-up in No. 1 singles in the ACCC, while she and Hayes teamed up to be conference No. 1 doubles champions. They also made the consolation finals at No. 1 doubles at the NJCAA National Championships.

Bishop and Hayes were ranked as high as 23rd nationally in doubles and were runners up at the ITA fall regional tournament. She was ranked as high as 42nd nationally in singles.

Hayes, from Jasper, Alabama, helped lead Walker County (Ala.) High School to a state title as a sophomore and a second-place finish as both a junior and senior. She was also the first player from CACC to make the main draw quarter finals in her singles flight, accomplishing that at the 2018 NJCAA National Championship.
