Daulton Hyatt Transferring to West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Daulton Hyatt, who signed with Arkansas after fielding scholarship offers from 17 FBS programs following his senior season at Etowah (Ala.) High, is transferring to West Alabama to finish his collegiate football career.

At 6-foot-4 and 197 pounds, Hyatt will be a junior at UWA after playing sparingly for the Razorbacks over the last three seasons. He redshirted in 2017 after reporting to campus in January and participating in spring drills, saw limited playing time in 2018 and did not play this season.

Tabbed the top quarterback in the state of Alabama by Scout, Hyatt was four-star prospect and rated the No. 9 pocket-passer and the No. 150 overall prospect in the nation by ESPN, who also named him the No. 5 player in the state of Alabama.

Hyatt transferred from Arab (Ala.) High School to Etowah High for his senior season but combined to pass for  6,216 yards and 50 touchdowns to go along with 1,854 yards and 16 scores on the ground through his prep career.

Named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association 2016 All-State team, he completed 66 percent of his passes (121-of-184) and threw for 2,240 yards with 25 touchdowns to five interceptions for EHS as a senior. He also ran for 419 yards and five TDs. Hyatt earned 6A Region 7 Offensive MVP honors at Arab High School.

Hyatt participated in the 2016 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game and attended The Opening-Atlanta, the only national camp that offers athletes state-of-the-art education in both  training and position-specific football. He also played basketball and baseball in high school.

Hyatt will enroll at UWA when spring semester begins this week and participate in spring drills.
