Tiger Softball Visits West Georgia

Carrollton, Ga. - West Alabama softball heads to Carrollton to open up the weekend series with a single game at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m.

"We are excited to get after it again this weekend," said UWA head coach Carie Dever-Boaz. "West Georgia is a very solid team, so we need to really be rock solid from the first pitch. This is a good weekend for us to move up in the standings."

UWA comes into the series with a 10-8 overall record, 6-6 in GSC play. West Georgia is 11-3 and 7-3.

Freshman Peyton Coots leads West Alabama hitters with a .459 batting average with four doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs. Sophomore shortstop LP Trammell is batting .357 with six doubles, three home runs and 18 RBIs.

UWG has four players hitting above .400 through 14 games led by senior right fielder Madison Slappey with a .500 average and 11 RBIs.
