Ladner, Graves Win Team Roping at UTM Rodeo

MARTIN, Tenn. – Ryder Ladner and Chase Graves won team roping to help lead the West Alabama Tiger Wrangler men to a fourth place finish at the 53^rd Annual UT Martin Spring College Rodeo this weekend at the McWherter Agricultural Complex.

Ladner and Graves put together a 12.2 average to take home the spurs awarded to the winners of team roping. Ladner was also fourth in steer wrestling, completing a solid weekend for the Kiln, Mississippi product.

Missouri Valley won the men's side of the rodeo, putting together 720 points. East Mississippi Community College was second with 540, followed by Tennessee-Martin with 530, West Alabama at 420 and Arkansas-Rich Mountain with 300 to round out the top five. Pearl River (Miss.) Community College was sixth with 160 points, while Three Rivers and Southern Arkansas rounded out the field that produced points with 100 and 55, respectively.

The hosting UTM women won the women's side with 365 points, followed by EMCC with 245, SAU with 215, MVC at 205 and PRCC with 115 to complete the top five. Arkansas-Monticello was sixth with 100 points, followed by Mississippi State with 60, Central Methodist with 20 and Murray State with five. West Alabama failed to register any points on the women's side.

West Alabama closes its spring season at the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rodeo beginning Thursday at the Northwest Farm Multipurpose Arena in Senatobia, Mississippi.
