LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Rodeo team moved up to No. 7 in the NIRA Rankings on Wednesday.
UWA climbs to No. 7 after another productive performance, coming at Pearl River CC's Home rodeo this past weekend. The Tigers accumulated 590 points which was good enough for a second place finish.
On the year, West Alabama has recorded 3,710 total points, putting them seventh in the nation and second in the Ozark Region.
Individually, Tanner Brown leads the way as he ranks second in the region in the All-Around standings with 940 total points. Brown is currently the top Team Roper Heeler in the country, leading the region with 560 total points in the event while his partner, Clarke Gordon, leads the charge as the Header with 560 points himself. In the Tie Down Roping, the senior ranks third in the Ozark with 380 points while Kota Wilhite sits in second with 410 points.
The duo of Stone Reeves and Sam McBride check in at No. 4 in the region as a Team Roping duo as Reeves works as the Heeler while McBride operates as the Header, accumulating 255 points.
The Tigers will look to build on their momentum on April 9 when they open up UT Martin's Home Rodeo in Martin, Tennessee.
