LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Emily Cowart has signed her National Letter of Intent to finish her collegiate career with the University of West Alabama softball team starting in the 2022 season.
"We are excited to welcome Emily into the Tiger family," UWA assistant coach Angel Brown said. "She will immediately add power to the line up."
Cowart joins the Tigers after spending two years at Calhoun Community College located in Tanner, Alabama.
"Cowart will contribute to our depth on defense at the corners and behind the plate, allowing us to solidify our defensive game plan," Brown said.
The native of Hartselle, Alabama posted a .371 batting average and a .603 slugging percentage with 56 hits, 38 runs, 42 RBIs, and nine homers during her sophomore season. Cowart led the Warhawks with the highest batting average her freshman season hitting .492 before the season was shortened due to COVID-19.
