Playing Surface at Tiger Stadium to Officially be Named Terry Bunn Field

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – In gratitude for he and his family's generous contributions and love for the University of West Alabama, UWA will posthumously honor Terry J. Bunn between the first and second quarters of Saturday's Homecoming game by naming the playing surface at Tiger Stadium as "Terry Bunn Field".
 
A 1976 UWA (Livingston University) graduate, Bunn served for almost three decades on the UWA Board, including two terms as board president.
 
"Terry's guidance, encouragement, and support are etched on many of us who worked alongside him for years," Dr. Ken Tucker, UWA President said. "He was renowned for his honesty, integrity, character, and courage, and his leadership and friendship will be greatly missed. 
 
"We would not have been able to accomplish the things we have at UWA without Terry's visionary leadership and generous financial support," Tucker said.
 
Throughout his life and career, Bunn helped pave the way for generations of students at UWA. He long supported the UWA Foundation and UWA's National Alumni Association, earning the NAA's Alumni Loyalty Award and a also place in UWA's prestigious Society of the Golden Key.
 
Bunn and his family have made numerous contributions and gifts to the University, enhancing the ability of UWA to provide an exceptional experience to its students. In light of those contributions, the desire of the Board of Trustees is to honor Mr. Bunn's distinguished service to UWA by naming the field at Tiger Stadium as "Terry Bunn Field."
 
"Terry Bunn positively impacted our students, faculty, and staff," UWA Vice President for Institutional Advancement Chris Thomason said. "His friendship, leadership, and generosity will be felt for many years."
 
During Saturday's game the field will be renamed "Terry Bunn Field" and the Bunn family is planning to be present to commemorate this event and their family's continued support of the University of West Alabama.
 
"We are so excited to honor Terry and the Bunn family with this gesture," UWA Director of Athletics Kent Partridge said. "This represents our deep gratitude  and celebrates the lasting legacy of everything Terry did while he was still with us, as well as his family's continual commitment and love for the University of West Alabama."
 
Present for the ceremony are expected to be several members of the Bunn family: wife Kay; son TJ and Caitlin, along their daughter Sara Kelly; son Kane and his wife Krissy, along with their twin girls Brinley and Kailey and son Beau; brother Sonny Bunny and his wife Kay.
 
Coverage of the 2022 Homecoming game and the presentation can be watched on FloSports and listened to on SLY 104.9. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. central time.
 
West Alabama comes into the game with a 4-3 overall record, 2-2 in Gulf South Conference play. North Greenville is 2-5 and 1-3.
