UWA Softball Takes on Columbus State in Weekend Series

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama softball team takes on Columbus State in a three-game series starting on Friday at Cougar Field in Columbus, Ga. The Tigers battle the Cougars in a single game on Friday with the first pitch set for 4 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.

The Tigers head into the weekend with a 6-7 overall record and are 1-2 in GSC play. The Cougars are 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the Peach Belt Conference.

Outfielder Cassie Matlock is leading UWA hitters with a .421 batting average. She has 38 at bats, 16 hits, three doubles, one triple, six RBIs, and has scored 10 runs.

Following Matlock is Peyton Coots. The senior catcher is hitting .333. She has 15 at bats, five hits, and one RBI.

The Tigers pitchers are Hannah Mynard, Kacy Noland, and Kaeleigh Crutchfield. Mynard has pitched 29 innings and has a 3.72 ERA. She has given up 12 earned runs and has striked out 25. Noland has pitched 23.2 innings and has a 4.18 ERA, while Crutchfield has pitched 31.1 innings with a 4.88 ERA.

According to csucougars.com, tickets are required for the game and must be purchased ahead of time. All ticketing is digital and there will be no cash transactions at the venue. Tickets can be purchased through the HomeTown Fan ticketing app or by clicking here. General admission is $10 per day.
