Box Score EDMOND, Okla. – the No. 6 ranked West Alabama women's tennis defeated No. 12 West Florida 4-0, in the quarterfinals round of the 2022 ITA DII National Women's Team Indoor Championship on Saturday morning at the Edmond Center Court in Edmond, Okla.
"It is great to get a first-round win against West Florida. We are looking forward to the opportunity to play in the semifinals tomorrow against another tough opponent," head coach Jeff Beaman said.
In singles play, Ly won 6-4, 6-2 against Nathalia Mossambani. Vidnere picked up a win against Raissa Wagner 6-1, 6-2. Valeria Arevalo won her singles match against Luiza Daud 6-3, 6-0.
When the Tigers got the fourth point, Franco and Garza were winning their singles matches. Sanz was tied 5-5 against Sara Yigin.
The Tigers advance to the semifinals and will compete against the winner of the No. 1 seed Barry or No. 8 seed Flagler. Barry and Flagler play Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Tigers semi-finals match will be Sunday at 11:00 A.m. in Edmond, Okla. at the Edmond Center Court.
