Deewajee Named GSC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Irawan "Ming" Deewajee won Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, Deewajee won the award based off her performances against Angelo State, Louisiana Tech, and Southern Arkansas.

Against Angelo State, Deewajee defeated Eva Schwartz 6-3, 6-0 in singles and won doubles with Almudena Sanz against ASU's Ayda Guler and Ramitha Irrinki 6-1.

Deewajee and Sanz downed Louisiana Tech's Najah Dawson and Ilana Tetruashvii 7-5. The duo took down Lena Milosevic and Simone Simas from Southern Arkansas 6-1.

The Tigers return to action Friday when they host Lee in a GSC match at the Vaughan Tennis Complex
