UWA Softball Heads to AUM

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - West Alabama softball team heads to Auburn Montgomery to open up the Gulf South Conference three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. Sunday will consist of a single game with a start time also at 1 p.m. at AUM Softball Complex.

The Tigers head into the weekend with a 17-13 overall record and are 9-6 in GSC play. The Warhawks are 24-6 overall and sit at 12-3 in the conference.

This is the 13th meeting between the two teams. AUM leads the series 10-3.

Cassie Matlock is leading UWA hitters with a .398 batting average, ranking her sixth in the GSC. The senior outfielder has 88 at bats, 35 hits with five doubles and three triples. She is ranked sixth in the GSC for hits and ninth in the conference for triples.

Kacy Noland is hitting .381, ranking her 11th in the GSC. The first baseman has 97 at bats, 37 hits with nine doubles, two triples, and three home runs. Her 97 at bats ranks her eighth in the GSC, fourth in the conference for hits, fifth for doubles, and 14th for triples.

LP Trammell is hitting .351 for the Tigers. The junior shortstop has 27 hits with 10 doubles and six home runs. Trammell is ranked second in the GSC for doubles and eighth for home runs. She is also ranked sixth in the GSC for runs scored with a total of 28.

Breanna Fortenberry is the leading UWA pitcher with a 2.45 ERA. She has given up three earned runs, struck out seven and walked two over 11 innings of work.

AUM freshman Haley Anna Frank is leading the Hawks' hitters with a .365 batting average. She had 85 at bats, 31 hits with three doubles, seven RBIs, and has scored 25 runs.
