Softball Set for Midweek Matchup against Miles College

PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. - West Alabama softball team heads to Miles College for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday. First pitch is slated for noon. 

The Tigers head into the game with a 18-18 overall record and are 10-11 in GSC play. The Golden Bears are 8-18-1 overall. 

This is the 32nd meeting between the two teams. The Tigers lead the series 30-1.

Kacy Noland is leading UWA hitters with a .386 batting average. The senior first basemen has 114 at bats, 44 hits, 10 doubles, two triples, and five home runs. She has collected 33 RBIs and scored 30 runs. 

Cassie Matlock is hitting .385. The senior outfielder has 109 at bats, 42 hits with eight doubles, three triples, and one home run. She has 25 RBIs and has scored 27 runs.

Breanna Fortenberry is the leading UWA pitcher with a 3.68 ERA. She has given up six earned runs, struck out eight and walked two over 14. innings of work. 

Montevallo freshman Kiara Cobb is leading the Golden Bear hitters with a .377 batting average. She had 53 at bats, 20 hits with a double, a triple, a home run, six RBIs, and has scored 11 runs.
