Women's Tennis to Play at AUM in Nationally Ranked Match

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama women's tennis is set for a pivotal Gulf South Conference road match at Auburn-Montgomery on Friday at 10 a.m. at the AUM Tennis Complex in a battle for the top of the conference.
 
The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved to Friday due to potential rain.
 
The Tigers bring in a 14-4 overall record while the Warhawks are 14-5. Both teams have perfect 8-0 record on the line.
 
UWA is ranked No. 14 in the latest ITA Division II Rankings and AUM comes in at No. 19. Both teams have multiple athletes in the ITA's singles and doubles rankings.
 
The Tigers are led by Haina Franco and Almudena Sanz in singles. Franco is 11-2 in singles play at No 2 and No. 3 and is ranked No. 12 in the ITA Singles Rankings. Sanz is 14-2 in her singles matches at No. 1 and she is ranked No. 16 in the ITA Singles Rankings.
 
The doubles team of Franco and Katia de la Garza are 10-5 and ranked No. 11.
 
AUM's Estefania Garcia is ranked No. 19 and 15-3 in matches. Sofia Navarro and Garcia are ranked No. 19 in doubles and have put together at 15-3 record at No. 1 doubles.
