Vidnere Named Jack’s Player of the Week

Livingston, Ala. – West Alabama's tennis player Hardija Vidnere earned Jack's Player of the Week based of her performance against No. 9 Central Oklahoma and Southern Arkansas last week.

The Tigers defeated Central Oklahoma, 4-3 Saturday morning. Vidnere took the lead quick on No. 4 court, winning the first point for the Tigers. Paired with Heden Ly on No. 3 court, the duo took down Nefeli Zafeiri and Pete Komada 7-6.

UWA finished off their week with sweeping Southern Arkansas 4-0 on Sunday morning. Vidnere defeated Kalley Smith 6-0, 6-3 on No. 4 court. Still paried with Ly at No. 3 court, the duo took down Sarah Roy and Inna Serpukhova 7-6.

Vidnere and the Tigers will be at Vaughan Tennis Complex for their first GSC match of the season against Shorter. Following UWA will take on Blue Mountain. The first serve is set for 10 a.m.
