Tiger Softball Set to Host Lee University in GSC Series on Saturday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama's softball team is set to host Lee University in a three-game Gulf South Conference series beginning Saturday at UWA Softball Complex.

The Tigers and the Flames are scheduled to open the series with a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m., followed by a single game on Sunday at noon.

The Tigers enter the series with a 16-7 overall record and are 8-4 in GSC play. The Flames are 6-17 overall and 3-6 in the conference.

Senior LP Trammell leads UWA hitters with a .394 batting average. She leads the GSC in slugging percentage (1.030). The shortstop has tallied 26 hits with three doubles. Trammell has hit 13 bombs this season, ranking her second in home runs. She has collected 25 RBIs and scored 23 runs.

Sophomore Taylor Clegg is hitting .301. She has tallied 22 hits with nine doubles, 13 RBIs, and scored 21 runs.

Junior Madison Wright (9-5) is the Tigers' top pitcher. She has pitched 87 innings and has a 2.09 ERA, ranking third in the GSC. She has given up 26 earned runs. She ranks second in strikeouts in the conference with 89. Kelsie Gilliam leads the GSC in stolen bases with 27.

Sidney Lee leads the Flames with a batting average of .343. She has tallied 24 hits with two doubles. She has collected 14 RBIs and scored 11 runs.
