Tiger Softball Opens GSC Series Against Montevallo on Friday

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - West Alabama's softball team opens the three-game Gulf South Conference series against Montevallo on Friday at 5 p.m. at Softball Stadium at Orr Park. The doubleheader will be Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Tigers are 20-8 overall and 11-4 in GSC play. The Falcons are 10-13 overall and 4-5 in the conference.

Senior LP Trammell leads UWA hitters with a .392 batting average. She leads the GSC in slugging percentage (1.025). The shortstop has tallied 31 hits with five doubles. Trammell has hit 15 bombs this season, ranking her first in home runs. She has collected 30 RBIs and scored 29 runs.

Sophomore Taylor Clegg is hitting .307. She has tallied 27 hits with 10 doubles, two triples, and four home runs. She has collected 21 RBIs and scored 26 runs.

Ann Marie Stanbridge is hitting 3.03. She has tallied 27 hits and collected 35 RBIs. She ranks third in the conference for RBIs.

Junior Madison Wright (11-6) leads the Tigers in the circle. Wright has pitched 102 innings and has a 2.33 ERA. She has given up 34 earned runs. She ranks second in strikeouts in the conference with 104.

Wright is ranked in multiple categories in the conference. She ranks second in innings pitched, batters struck out, batters struck out looking, and saves. She ranks third in opposing batting average and wins. Wright ranks fifth in ERA.

Kelsie Gilliam leads the GSC in stolen bases with 33. Clegg is right behind her in second with 16. Hannah Mynard ranks ninth with 11.

Shelby Sloan leads the Falcons with a batting average of .444. She has tallied 32 hits with two doubles. She has collected 21 RBIs and scored 15 runs.
