Tigers Head to Birmingham to Face Lee University in GSC Semifinals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - West Alabama men's basketball team takes on the No. 3 seed Lee University in the semifinals round of the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament. Tip-off is set for 7:15 p.m. inside Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University.

UWA ended the regular season with a 23-5 overall record and went 19-5 in GSC play, claiming the Tigers GSC Regular Season Co-Champions in head coach Nick Woodruff's third season.

The Tigers defeated No. 7 seed Union in the first round of the GSC Championship Tournament in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium on Feb. 28.

This will be the third meeting between the Tigers and Flames this season. Lee won the contest early in the season on Dec. 4, but UWA defeated the Flames 74-63 on Jan. 26.

As a unit, UWA averages 73.3 points per game. The Tigers' defense leads the GSC, holding its opponent to 62.1 points per game. UWA's scoring margin is 11.2 points per game.

Shardarrion Allen leads the Tigers' offense with 14.1 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. Justin Allison averages 13.5 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, and 3.1 assists per game.

Terry Durham averages 12.6 points per game and pulls down 7.4 boards per game. Kuran Garner averages 11.8 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game.
