Tiger Softball Heads to Mississippi College on Friday

CLINTON, Miss. - West Alabama's softball team takes on Mississippi College in a three-game Gulf South Conference series beginning Friday night at 5 p.m. at MC Softball Complex. The doubleheader will be held on Saturday with a start time at 1 p.m.

The Tigers enter the series with a 16-4 overall record and are 8-1 in GSC play. The Choctaws are 16-4 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

Senior LP Trammell leads UWA hitters with a .411 batting average. The shortstop has tallied 23 hits with three doubles and 10 home runs, 21 RBIs, and scored 20 runs.

Sophomore Taylor Clegg is hitting .349. She has tallied 22 hits with nine doubles, two triples, and a home run. She has collected 13 RBIs and scored 20 runs.

Junior Madison Wright (9-3) is the Tigers' top pitcher. She has pitched 75 innings and has a 1.68 ERA. She has given up 18 earned runs while striking out 81.

Shelby Samples leads MC with a batting average of .436. She has tallied 24 hits with three doubles, three triples, and two home runs. She has collected 17 RBIs and scored 17 runs.
