Tiger Softball Moves to No. 22 in the NFCA Division II Coaches Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - West Alabama's softball team moved into the No. 22 spot in week 10 of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Tigers are 31-10 overall and 18-6 in GSC play.

Senior LP Trammell leads UWA hitters with a .384 batting average. She leads the GSC with a .973 slugging percentage. The shortstop has tallied 43 hits with eight doubles and two triples. Trammell has hit 18 bombs this season, ranking her second in the GSC in home runs and third nationally. She has collected 45 RBIs and scored 40 runs.

Sophomore Taylor Clegg is hitting .369. She has tallied 45 hits with 16 doubles, two triples, and 10 home runs. She has collected 43 RBIs and scored 45 runs. Clegg is ranked second in the GSC in stolen bases with 23 and ranks 45th nationally.

Ann Marie Stanbridge has a .341 batting average with 43 hits. She had nine doubles, two triples, and 17 home runs.

Kelsie Gilliam is hitting .325. She has tallied 37 hits and has scored 40 runs. Gilliam leads the GSC in stolen bases with 46, ranks third nationally in stolen bases, and seventh nationally in stolen bases per game.

Junior Madison Wright (18-7) leads the Tigers in the circle. Wright has pitched 145.0 innings and has a 2.32 ERA. She has given up 48 earned runs. She has notched 147 strikeouts.

Wright is ranked in multiple categories in the conference. She ranks second in batters struck out and opposing batting average. She ranks third in innings pitched, batters struck out looking, and wins. Wright ranks fourth in ERA and saves.

UWA ranks second nationally in total stolen bases, fourth in home runs, hit by pitch, stolen bases per game, and slugging percentage, 16th in scoring, tied for 17th in total runs, and 21st in on-base percentage.

Tampa rises to the No. 1 spot in the poll with a 32-2 overall record. Three other GSC schools are also ranked. Alabama Huntsville (36-7) ranks fourth, Valdosta State (32-9) ranks 13th, and Mississippi College (33-7) ranks 18th.
