Women’s Tennis Punches Ticket to NCAA South Regional Tournament as the No. 5 Seed

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After winning the 2023 Gulf South Conference Regular Season Championship title and being named GSC Tournament Champions, the West Alabama women's tennis team received an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II South Regional Tournament.
 
UWA (19-5) enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed and will face the No. 4 seed Lynn University (18-5) in the first round on Monday, May 1, at the Buccaneer Tennis Center in Miami Shores, Florida, hosted by the No. 1 seed Barry University. First serve is set for noon CT. 
 
Barry (22-0) out of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) will face Benedict. Benedict won the automatic bid by winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship Tournament and is the No. 8 seed.
 
Nova Southeastern (21-3) is the other school hosting and enters as the No. 2 seed. The Sharks will face the No. 7 seed West Florida. Both schools received an at-large bid.
 
The No. 3 seed Saint Leo (19-6) and the No. 6 seed Auburn Montgomery (18-5) both received an at-large bid and will face each other in the first round.
