Tiger Softball Set to Host Delta State in Non-Conference Midweek Matchup

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama's softball team will host Delta State in a non-conference midweek matchup on Tuesday at UWA Softball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Tigers are 26-8 overall and 17-4 in GSC play. The Statesmen are 11-25 overall and 5-13 in the conference.

Senior LP Trammell leads UWA hitters with a .385 batting average. She leads the GSC with a 1.010 slugging percentage. The shortstop has tallied 37 hits with seven doubles and a triple. Trammell has hit 17 bombs this season, ranking her first in the GSC in home runs and second nationally. She has collected 40 RBIs and scored 33 runs.

Sophomore Taylor Clegg is hitting .350. She has tallied 36 hits with 11 doubles, three triples, and eight home runs. She has collected 34 RBIs and scored 36 runs.

Kelsie Gilliam is hitting .347. She has tallied 36 hits and has scored 36 runs. Gilliam leads the GSC in stolen bases with 41. Clegg is right behind her in second with 20.

Junior Madison Wright (15-6) leads the Tigers in the circle. Wright has pitched 122.0 innings and has a 2.24 ERA. She has given up 39 earned runs. She has notched 124 strikeouts.

Wright is ranked in multiple categories in the conference. She ranks second in batters struck out, batters struck out looking, and opposing batting average. She ranks third in saves, wins, and innings pitched. Wright ranks fourth in ERA.

The team is ranks third nationally in home runs and fifth in stolen bases.

MyCala Helms leads the Statesmen with a batting average of .381. She has tallied 43 hits with two eight doubles and seven home runs. She has collected 28 RBIs and scored 30 runs.
