Dent Earns All-American Honors

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball guard Bria Dent was named to the 2023 World Exposure Report NCAA Division II Women's Basketball All-American team. She earned Honorable Mention honors.

Dent averaged 18.4 points per game, ranking her second in the GSC and 31st nationally in points per game. She also averaged 10.7 rebounds per game, ranking her second in the GSC and 12th nationally. Dent recorded 19 double-doubles this season, tying her for fifth nationally.

Dent scored a career-high this season of 33 points against West Georgia on Feb. 11. She also grabbed a career-high of 19 rebounds against Christian Brothers on Jan. 2.

During her time as a Tiger, the Birmingham, Alabama native played in 127 games, ranking her first in the Tigers' all-time list for games played. Dent ended her career with 1,794 points, ranking her second on the Tiger all-time points scored list. She also collected 1,284 rebounds during her collegiate career, ranking her first on the Tiger all-time list and fifth in the GSC for individual career records in rebounds.

The senior forward has collected multiple accolades during her time at UWA. She was named 2023 First Team All-South Region, 2023 First Team All-GSC, Second Team All-GSC in 2022, Second Team All-GSC West Division in 2021, Second Team All-GSC in 2020, and named GSC Freshman of the Week four times during the 2018-19 season.

The entire list of the All-American teams can be viewed here. Sydney Kin, the forward from the University of Tampa, was named Player of the Year. Emilee Weakley won Freshman of the Year from Frostburg State.
