Wright, Clegg, and Stanbridge Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - West Alabama's softball pitcher Madison Wright, third baseman Taylor Clegg, and first baseman Ann Marie Stanbridge were all named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II South All-Region team. All three Tigers received Second Team All-Region honors.  
 
Junior pitcher, Wright, was named First Team All-GSC and named to the GSC All-Tournament Team. Wright threw three perfect games this season, two against conference opponents (Montevallo & Lee). She also threw two no-hitters against conference opponents. Wright has thrown seven shutouts this season with six five-inning run ruled victories. 
 
The Douglas, Alabama native made 37 appearances in the circle. She has pitched 205.2 innings, giving up only 68 earned runs this season on 148 hits for a 2.31 ERA. She ranks second in the conference in strikeouts with 204 and second in batters struck out looking with 44.  
 
Wright is ranked in multiple categories in the conference. She leads the GSC in wins in the circle with 25. She ranks second in innings pitched, opposing batting average, and ERA.
 
Clegg is leading the Tigers' offense, hitting .356 with 58 hits. Clegg leads the GSC in doubles with 18 and ranks 23rd nationally. She is ranked third in the conference in stolen bases with 27 and third in runs scored with 56. She ranks ninth in the conference with 50 RBIs. Clegg has a .955 fielding percentage with 41 putouts and 66 assists.

Stanbridge has had a phenomenal freshman season. She was named GSC Freshman of the Year, First Team All-GSC, and named to the GSC All-Tournament Team. 
 
The Helena, Alabama native leads the GSC with 21 home runs and is tied for fourth nationally. Stanbridge tied UWA's home run record in a single season. She ranks second in the conference in RBIs with 67 and is tied for ninth nationally.
 
Stanbridge has a batting average of .337 with 55 hits, 10 doubles, and two triples. She also has a .810 slugging percentage ranking fifth in the GSC and 20th nationally. She has a .966 fielding percentage with 233 putouts and 20 assists.
