Tiger Softball Faces the No. 6 Seed Montevallo in the GSC Championship Tournament on Wednesday

OXFORD, Ala. - West Alabama's softball team takes on the No. 6 seed Montevallo in the first game of the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament Wednesday morning. First pitch is set for 10 a.m. at Choccolocco Park.

UWA ended the regular season with a 38-11 overall record and went 23-7 in GSC play, clinching the No. 3 seed in the tournament.

The Tigers swept the series against Montevallo in mid-March this season. Madison Wright threw her second perfect game of the season in the first game of the series against the Falcons.

Taylor Clegg leads the Tigers from the plate with a batting average of .363 with 17 doubles, two triples, and 10 home runs. She had been solid at third base with a .953 fielding percentage. She has 34 RBIs and scored 30 runs.

LP Trammell is hitting .343 for the Tigers with 18 home runs, ranking her third in the GSC and tied for 10th nationally. Trammell is second in the GSC with a .843 slugging percentage and ranks 10th nationally.

Ann Marie Stanbridge leads the GSC in home runs with 20 and hits .340 for UWA. Kelsie Gilliam leads the GSC in stolen bases with 54.

Wright (23-7) leads the Tigers in the circle. Wright has pitched 177.2 innings and has a 2.17 ERA. She has notched 179 strikeouts.

Shelby Sloan leads the Falcons' bats with a .414 batting average.

Digital tickets are available for purchase on GoFan. Tickets will be $10 a day for adults. Physical tickets will also be available at the gate. There will not be a weekend/tournament pass available. Parking will be $5 a day and will be cash only. An ATM on site if needed.
