Softball Stays Put at No. 13 in NFCA Rankings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of West Alabama softball team remains ranked 13th nationally in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll after its opening weekend of Gulf South Conference play.  

The Tigers fell to the Lady Bulldogs of Union University two games to one, with the women salvaging a game three victory, 6-3. During Sunday's doubleheader, Taylor Clegg went 5-for-8 with two home runs and five RBIs. 

UWA now sits at 9-4 overall and 1-2 in league play heading into their second conference series this weekend.

After 13 games on the road to start the season, the Tigers will take on rival West Florida in their home opener this weekend in a three-game series. The first pitch of Friday's series opener is set for 5 p.m. at the UWA Softball Complex.
