Box Score TYLER, Texas - The No. 3 University of West Alabama women's tennis team was defeated by No. 8 Cameron University by a 4-1 score Sunday morning on the campus of the University of Texas at Tyler.
The Aggies and Tigers played a tight competition in doubles section, with Cameron winning two matches that went down to the seven-point tiebreaker decisions.
Khim Iglupas got the Tigers on the board, taking down Vasilisa Polunova at the top spot of the lineup, 6-2, 6-2, and Hardija Vidnere won her spot at the No. 4 flight with a 6-1, 7-6 (4) score. However, the Aggies secured the match with four singles points.
"Cameron is a very good team. Unfortunately, we did not convert on several occasions," said head coach Jeff Beaman.
The Tigers fell to 5-5 overall.
UWA will next take on No. 13 North Georgia in Chattanooga on March 8. First serve is set for 12 p.m. CST
