TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of West Alabama women's tennis team wrapped up the 2024 season with a national ranking of 13th in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II listing, announced by the coaches group on Wednesday.

Along with the team rankings, Khim Iglupas (singles), Shaira Rivera (doubles) and Hardija Vidnere (doubles) were listed individually.

The Tigers concluded the 2024 season with a 15-10 overall record and the program's fifth straight Gulf South Conference Regular Season crown.

The Tigers also participated in the ITA Indoor National Championships back in February and took third place at the event with wins over Flagler and Saint Leo.

Despite the team advancing to the semifinals of the GSC Championship, West Alabama secured an at-large bid into the NCAA Division II Championships.

"This season was a lot of ups and downs for the women. We secured another conference regular season title, but we just ran out of gas at the end. Still, it was a great season. We are graduating some great seniors, but we have a lot of talent coming back next year as we look forward to improving on what we built this year," said head coach Jeff Beaman, who was tapped as the GSC Coach of the Year for the fifth year in a row.

Individually, Iglupas will end in the top five nationally in singles. The University of Arizona transfer finished fifth in the country with an 18-2 singles record at the top flight. The GSC Player of the Year won all 10 matches in conference play.

In doubles, Rivera and Vidnere led UWA with a No. 11 ranking with a 14-5 record at line one. The doubles team went 3-3 against nationally ranked opponents.
