Former Softball All-American Matlock to Play in WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals

Former University of West Alabama softball standout Cassie Matlock has been named to the 2024 Canadian women's baseball team roster and will take part in the World Baseball Softball Confederation Women's Baseball World Cup Finals in Thunder Bay from July 28 to August 3.  

Matlock, who played for the Tigers from 2020 to 2022, led the Tigers program in batting average in all three campaigns, earning First Team All-GSC honors during her final season in Livingston, along with a D2 CCA Third Team All-America selection.  

The Edmonton, Alberta, Canada native started 96 games for West Alabama, recording a .393 career batting average and 159 putouts.
