MOBILE, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Tennis program wrapped up the Fall GSC Championships on Sunday, with the duo of Alexa Milliam and Valentina Mutilba being crowned the Women's Doubles Champions.
The 2025 Fall GSC Championships began on Friday and concluded on Sunday. The duo of Milliam and Mutilba went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend, highlighted by their 6-3 win over Mississippi College's tandem of Emily Buchanan and Ann Cabot Stockett in the Championship match.
In the first round, Milliam and Mutilba defeated Valdosta State's Lena Beckx and Ivan Castillo Hurtado, 6-3. In the Quarterfinals, the UWA duo handled Montevallo's Klara Podskubkova and Claire Jaramba, 6-4, before punching their tickets to the Championship match with a clean, 6-2, win over Guadalupe Martinez and Aline Midori who represent West Florida.
On the men's side, the tandem of Gabriel Garay and Sebastiao Vilas went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend in Flight Two Men's Doubles. In Flight One Doubles, West Alabama's Federico Iturbe and Afonso Portugal made it to the Championship match, but fell to Lee's Quinn Groenendijk and Jip Langerhuizen.
Overall, on the weekend, the Tigers accumulated a total of 27 wins to wrap up their Fall season.
