LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference announced its 2025 Men's Soccer All-GSC Teams on Thursday afternoon, with three University of West Alabama players earning conference honors for their standout performances this season.
Junior forward David Nunez headlined the group, being named First-Team All-GSC, while sophomore midfielder Ronny Wakelin and graduate defender Oisin Griffin each earned Second-Team All-GSC honors.
Nunez was one of the conference's most dynamic offensive threats throughout the season, leading the Tigers with 10 goals and two assists across 14 matches. He ranked tied for second in the GSC in goals scored, fifth in points (22), and fifth in game-winning goals (3). Nunez also finished 10th in total shots (34) and seventh in shots on goal (19), maintaining an impressive 0.559 shots-on-goal percentage while playing 1,159 minutes on the year.
In the midfield, Wakelin served as a key playmaker, dishing out six assists to tie for fourth-most in the GSC. Appearing in 14 matches with eight starts, the sophomore's vision and creativity helped spark UWA's attack throughout the season.
On the defensive end, Griffin anchored the Tigers' back line, starting all nine matches he appeared in while contributing two assists and helping lead UWA to two shutouts. The graduate defender brought leadership and consistency to a unit that continually challenged some of the top offenses in the conference.
The trio's recognition highlights a strong 2025 campaign for the Tigers, who showed balance across all phases of play with contributions from veteran leaders and emerging young talent alike.
