No.12 Women's Tennis Hosts Falcons, Men's Team Travels for Matchup Against Falcons

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The 12th-ranked West Alabama women's tennis team (1-1) is set to return to action on Wednesday, February 12, at 2 p.m. when it hosts Montevallo (1-1) at the Vaughan Tennis Complex, while the Men travel to Montevallo on Thursday.

The Tigers will look to build on their early-season success, led by strong performances in singles from Valentina Mutilba (2-0) and Shaira Rivera (2-0).

UWA's doubles teams have split their early-season matches, with Rivera and Mutilba (1-1) securing a key win in the No. 1 doubles spot. The Tigers will aim to take advantage of Montevallo's struggles in singles play, as the Falcons hold a 4-8 overall record in individual matchups.

On the men's side, West Alabama (2-1) will travel to Montevallo on Thursday, February 13, at 2 p.m. for a Gulf South Conference showdown. The Tigers have been dominant in singles, with Vilislav Bonev and Federico Iturbe both holding undefeated 3-0 records. UWA will seek to continue its early-season momentum and secure their first conference victory on the road. With the Falcons being (0-2) to start the young tennis season.
