MERIDIAN, Miss. - The University of West Alabama Rodeo Program concluded the EMCC Rodeo on Friday night with the Men's team placing second and the Women's squad finishing sixth.
The West Alabama Men bounced back with a second place finish, accumulating 461 points while the Women claimed sixth with a total of 126 points.
MEN'S RODEO: Second Place, 461 Points
Tanner Brown and Clarke Gordon spearheaded the Tigers' efforts this weekend as the duo combined for 271 points in the Team Roping event. Brown and Gordon each recorded an event-high 135.5 points which ultimately propelled UWA to their second place finish. Isaiah Wigington and Wilder Andrews competed in the Team Roping along with Brown and Gordon. Wigington and Andrews both finished with 69 points, propelling West Alabama to 409 points in the event.
While Brown and Gordon excelled in the Team Roping event, Kota Wilhite dazzled in the Tie Down Roping. Wilhite finished second in the event with 126 points while Gavin Lee picked up a total of 119, accumulating 69 points in the Steer Wrestling and 50 points in Bareback Riding.
WOMEN'S RODEO: Sixth Place, 126 Points
Meah Pinter led the way for the Tigers as the freshman recorded a team-high 126 points in the Goat Tying event. Sarah Curl competed alongside Pinter in the event and registered 69 points. Alee Rolison and Millie Joe Rosenberg joined Pinter and Curl as the only West Alabama representatives in the EMCC Rodeo. Rolison and Rosenberg combined for 32 points in the Barrell Racing event to conclude the weekend for UWA.
West Alabama Rodeo will be back in action next week when they compete in the Pearl River CC Rodeo which is to begin on Thursday.
