LIVINGSTON, Ala. – University of West Alabama distance runners
Augusta Arnold,
Mercy Lomuria, and
Gary Mata are set to compete in two upcoming meets in St. Louis, Missouri. They will participate in the Washington University Distance Carnival on Friday, March 28, followed by the Billiken Invitational on Saturday, March 29.
The trio enters the competition following commendable performances at the AI Schmidt Bulldog Relays (Starkville, Miss.), where each secured a top-10 finish. Lomuria placed second in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 17:50.97, while Mata secured third place in the men's 5000-meter run with a time of 15:49.49. Additionally, Arnold achieved an eighth-place finish in the women's 400-meter dash, recording a time of 57.35.
Gary Mata is scheduled to compete in the men's 5000-meter run at 3:21 p.m. on Friday, followed by
Mercy Lomuria in the women's 5000-meter run at 8:45 p.m. On Saturday,
Augusta Arnold will compete in the 800-meter dash at the Billiken Invitational, with her race set for 3:00 p.m.
Building on their recent successes, Arnold, Lomuria, and Mata will seek to deliver strong performances as they face high-level competition in St. Louis.
