LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After registering the first save of his career this past weekend, the University of West Alabama Baseball's Nolan Phillips was named the GSC Freshman of the Week.
Phillips garners his second Freshman of the Week honor in the young season after helping UWA extend their active winning streak.Â
The freshman made one appearance this past weekend, pitching 3.2 inning in Game Two against the Bucs. In his 3.2 innings of work, Phillips struck out three batters while allowing one run on two hits to secure a 10-8 win for the Tigers and the first save of his career.Â
On the season, the UWA right hander has made five appearances out of the pen, accumulating 11.1 innings and registering a 3.97 ERA.
Phillips and the Tigers will be back in action today at 11:00 a.m. as they are set for a non-conference midweek matchup with Miles College.
