LIVINGSTON, Ala. – After helping lead the Tigers to another NCAA South Region Tournament appearance, two members of the University of West Alabama baseball program earned postseason recognition as senior infielder Nick Wilson and freshman pitcher Blake Westry were both named to the D2CCA All-South Region First Team.
Wilson capped off an impressive senior campaign as one of the Tigers' most consistent offensive and defensive players throughout the 2026 season. The infielder started all 51 games and finished the year with a .318 batting average, collecting 63 hits, 43 RBI, eight doubles, and seven home runs. He also scored 27 runs while posting 19 walks and recording multiple clutch performances in Gulf South Conference play.
The senior delivered 18 multi-hit games on the season, including a three-hit outing against Alabama Huntsville on April 25. Wilson also produced several big offensive performances early in the season, highlighted by a five-RBI effort against Augusta on February 8. Defensively, he anchored the left side of the infield with a .961 fielding percentage, totaling 103 assists and turning seven double plays during the season.
Westry emerged as one of the top freshman pitchers in the South Region during his debut season in Livingston. The right-hander finished the year with an 8-1 record and a stellar 2.08 ERA across 69.1 innings pitched. He struck out 44 batters while limiting opposing hitters to just 19 runs, including only 16 earned runs all season.
The freshman recorded five or more strikeouts in four separate appearances and turned in multiple dominant outings throughout the year. Among his top performances was a one-hit shutout effort against Mississippi College on February 14 and a six-inning outing at Lee University on April 18. Westry also delivered a strong postseason performance against Rollins in the NCAA South Region Tournament, allowing just two runs, both unearned, across five innings of work.
The pair helped guide the Tigers to a 35-17 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA South Region Tournament during the 2026 campaign.
