LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Well into their Spring seasons, the University of West Alabama Men's and Women's Rodeo team both reside within the top-15 of the NIRA rankings, while sitting atop the Ozark Region.

After a first place finish with 330 points at the Pearl River Rodeo, the women's squad checks in at No. 12 nationally and No. 1 in the Ozark Region while the Men are ranked seventh in the country and second in the Region with a total of 3,716 points. 

The Tigers are also well represented in the individual rankings as six West Alabama athletes rank within the top-25 across various events. 

Tanner Brown leads the way for the Men's team as the senior sits second in the country in the Men's All-Around with a total of 1,415 points this season. Brown has been dominate in the Team Roping Event, particularly as the Heeler, registering 700.5 points in that event alone which puts him second in the country. Team Roping Headers, Clarke Gordon and Cooper Cowan have been just as solid in the event, with Gordon ranking second in the nation with 700.5 points and Cowan sitting in fifth with 685 points. Brown also carries the torch in the Tie Down Roping as he's recorded 715 points in the event which ranks fourth in the country.

On the Women's side, Sydney Poole is 22nd in the Women's All-Around with 653.33 points while also ranking in the top-25 in the Barrel Racing event with 420 points. Even though she has yet to compete this Spring, Ashley Henderson remains in the top-10 in the Breakaway Roping event with 425 points  while Joanna Hammett continues to ascend, checking in at No. 18 in the Goat Tying.

West Alabama will get two more weeks off before returning to action on April 16 for UT Martin's Home Rodeo.
