LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Softball's Marissa Mitchell and Taylor Clegg have officially been named unanimous All-Region selections as the duo picked up D2CCA honors on Monday.

Mitchell secured a First Team selection, making the Second Baseman a unanimous All-Region selection. As for Clegg, she earns Second Team honors to obtain an unanimous distinction. 

Mitchell missed six games this year, but that didn't stop the senior from leading the Tigers in all of the major offensive categories. Mitchell closed out her collegiate career with a .382 batting average, 15 Home Runs, and 43 RBIs. The Second Baseman accumulated a conference-high .862 slugging percentage and a .493 on-base percentage, registering a league-best 1.355 OPS. Mitchell recorded 10 multi-hit games, including a trio of three-hit games, making her one of the most dangerous hitters in the league and country. Defensively, the Second Baseman put together her best collegiate season, registering 96 putouts to just four errors to accumulate a career-high .970 fielding percentage.

As for Clegg, she hit a career-high .361 at the plate along with a career-high .438 on-base percentage. The Third Baseman also tagged on 15 doubles, which ranks second in the GSC, five Home Runs, and 27 RBIs to help the Tigers to a 30 win season. Throughout the year, Clegg continued to show her value as a five-tool player as she also stole a team-high 18 bases while registering a .934 field percentage. 

Both Mitchell and Clegg will move on to the All-American ballot which will be announced in the coming weeks.
