LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After being named an NFCA Second Team All-American on Wednesday, the University of West Alabama Softball's Marissa Mitchell has been named a D2CCA Third Team All-American on Thursday, making her an unanimous All-American for the 2025 season.
Mitchell's legacy continues to grow as the senior adds a D2CCA All-American selection to a NFCA All-American Selection, NFCA and D2CCA First Team All-Region selection, First Team All-GSC, and a GSC Top Ten recipient in the 2025 campaign alone.
The Second Baseman concluded her UWA career with a .382 Batting Average, 15 Home Runs, 43 RBIs, .862 Slugging Percentage, .493 On-Base Percentage, and a 1.355 OPS. The senior registered 10 multi hit games and blasted two Grand Slams on the year, proving her status as one of the most dangerous hitters in the country.
In the field, Mitchell was a brick wall. The Second Baseman recorded 96 putouts to just four errors, accumulating a .970 fielding percentage. The senior also put her .493 on-base percentage to use as she swiped 12 bases on 13 attempts.
With a plethora of awards already to her name, Mitchell is in the mix for the GSC Commissioner's Trophy Award which is the most prestigious honor in the Gulf South Conference.
