CLEVELAND, Tenn. - After putting together the best campaign of her collegiate career, Augusta Arnold added another trinket to her resume on Saturday as the senior was named the GSC Champion Scholar-Athlete.
At each GSC Championship Tournament, the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point-average among teams participating shall be recognized. A minimum of 48 credit hours must be completed at the institution in order to be nominated for the award, and the GPA is based on the most recently completed term.
Before Arnold was named the GSC Champion Scholar-Athlete, the runner won the 400M event at the GSC Championships to claim her first GSC Title of her career. Throughout the season, Arnold broke the school in the 400M twice, including her GSC winning 56.13 time on Saturday.Â
While thriving on the track, the senior also excelled in the classroom. As a Chemistry Biology major, Arnold currently holds a perfect 4.00 GPA, making her a prime candidate for this award.
Arnold joins Cross Country's and Track and Field's Kayley Key and Softball's Taylor Clegg as GSC Champion Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 athletic year.Â
