LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After leading the University of West Alabama Football team to a 28-24 win over No. 18 Charleston on Saturday, Quarterback Spencer Arceneaux and Linebacker JT Hooten were named GSC Players of the Week on Monday.
Arceneaux collects back-to-back Offensive Player of the Week awards while Hooten was named this week's Defensive Player of the Week.Â
On Saturday, Arceneaux registered 303 total yards with 213 coming through the air and 90 coming on the ground. The senior completed 16 of his 28 passes and threw for a pair of touchdowns while rushing for a 71 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter which proved to be the game winning score for the Tigers. Through three games this season, Arceneaux has scored eight touchdowns along with 748 yards.
As for Hooten, he was a tackling machine for UWA on Saturday. The sophomore collected a career-high 17 tackles in the Tigers' win with nine being assisted and eight being solo. Amongst those 17 tackles, Hooten recorded 1.0 tackles for loss keeping a heavy rushing offense in Charleston at bay.
Arceneaux, Hooten, and the Tigers will host Barton College on Saturday with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m.Â
