LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After moving to 2-0 on the year last weekend in their 38-28 win over Chowan, the University of West Alabama Football team moved up in all three Division II Top-25 polls.
In this week's edition of the rankings, West Alabama is ranked 17th in the AFCA Coaches Poll, 18th in D2Football.com's poll, and 13th in FloCollege's Top-25.
Through two games, the Tigers are averaging 32.5 points and 356 yards per game. Defensively, West Alabama is currently seventh in the nation in sacks while only allowing 276 yards per game which ranks 27th.
Led by Austin McCready and Tyrek Williams, Special Teams has been a plus for UWA. McCready sits second in the country in net punting with 48.4 yards per punt, constantly pinning opponents inside their own 20 yard line. West Alabama hasn't allowed a single yard on punt returns through two contests.
UWA will bring their ranking home for the first time on Saturday when they welcome the Charleston Eagles for a 1:00 p.m. matchup on Saturday.
