LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Rodeo team completed their first Rodeo of the 2025-26 season this past weekend at Missouri Valley College.
The Men's team placed fourth with 280 points while Women's squad failed to place.
MEN'S TEAM: Fourth Place/280 Points
Tyler Lovering, Teigan Orr, and Kota Wilhite led UWA to their fourth place finish. Lovering finished this weekend's Rodeo with a team-high 125 points in the Tie Down roping while Orr helped the Tigers' efforts in the Steer Wrestling event with 110 points. As for Wilhite, he kicked off his campaign with 90 points in the Tie Down Roping event alongside Lovering.
Austin Brooks also made his West Alabama debut and recorded 30 points in the Steer Wrestling.
WOMEN'S TEAMÂ
Allie Sherman and Ashley Teems led the way in the Barrel Racing event as the duo combined for 150 points with Sherman garnering 100 and Teems picking up 50. Summerlin O'Neal competed well in the Breakaway Roping event as she recorded 100 points, finishing third.Â
West Alabama will return to action next weekend when they host the annual UWA Rodeo Showdown, beginning on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
