LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After a historic season for the University of West Alabama Baseball team, Bryant Quimby has been named the Small College Pitcher of the Year while Pitching Coach Brock Ward was named the Small College Assistant Coach of the Year.
Quimby and Ward garner these prestigious awards after leading UWA to a 15-3 record in the second half of the season, resulting into a GSC Championship and a trip to the NCAA South Regional.
For Quimby, he turned in the best season of his career. The star lefty led the Tigers in ERA, Wins, Innings Pitched, WHIP, Strikeouts, Complete games, leading to an All-GSC and All-Region selection. At the end of the 2025 season, Quimby posted a pitching line of 8-5, 2.62 ERA, 77 strikeouts, 31 Walks, and three complete games in 86.0 innings.
As for Ward, he was masterful alongside Head Coach Eric DuBose. Under Ward's Tutelage, Quimby and starter, Maxwell Schumacher finished the season with ERAs well under 4.00, while pitching 160.1 innings combined. On top of that, Judah Buckner and Ryan Ladner held ERAs under 3.00 out of the bullpen, with Buckner finishing the year as one of the best closers in the country. Buckner put together a pitching line of 2-1, 1.99 ERA, 33 Strikeouts, and six saves in 20 appearances and 22.2 innings, leading to an unanimous All-Region recognition along with a Third Team All-American and First Team All-GSC nod.
As a team, West Alabama held a 4.65 ERA, ranking second in the GSC.
