LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Baseball program was well represented at the ALABC Coaches Convention on Friday with Brock Ward, Bryant Quimby, and Aaron Wallace taking home Yearly Awards.
Ward, the Tigers' Pitching Coach, took home the Assistant Coach of the Year Award while Quimby was named the Pitcher of the Year for DII, DIII, and NAIA. As for Wallace, he's a newcomer transferring in from Gadsden State Community College and was named the Player of the Year for JUCO DI Alabama Community College Conference.
Ward wins the distinction as the top Assistant Coach in the state after being instrumental in West Alabama's 2025 campaign. The Pitching Coach guided UWA's pitching staff to a 4.65 Team ERA which ranked second in the GSC. Under Ward's watchful eye, Quimby and Judah Buckner turned in career seasons. Quimby was the Tigers' ace all season and was named All-South Region at the season's end while Buckner was named an All-American after an incredible year as West Alabama's closer. Along with individual success, Ward was instrumental in UWA winning the GSC Championship, their first since 2015.
Quimby adds an ALABC to Pitcher of the Year award to his crowded 2025 recognition collection. In 2025, the lefty led the Tigers in ERA, Wins, Innings Pitched, WHIP, Strikeouts, Complete games, leading to an All-GSC and All-Region selection. At the end of the 2025 season, Quimby posted a pitching line of 8-5, 2.62 ERA, 77 strikeouts, 31 Walks, and three complete games in 86.0 innings.
Wallace was one of the top JUCO players in the country this past season. The shortstop hit .429 along with four home runs and 49 RBIs for Gadsden State CC. Contact, speed, and elite fielding is Wallace's calling card which separated him as an infielder on the JUCO circuit. Wallace is slated to bring an elite skill set to Livingston this upcoming Spring as the Tigers seek to defend their GSC Championship.
