LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Basketball's BJ Brown Jr. was named Preseason All-GSC by the conference on Monday.
With the Basketball season just three weeks away, Brown Jr. is recognized as one of the top returners in the GSC for the 2026-27 season.
In his first season with the Tigers in 2025-26, Brown Jr. orchestrated UWA's offense and went on to average 11.5 points, 5.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. The Point Guard led West Alabama to a GSC Regular Season Championship, where he was named All-Tournament, and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Brown Jr. scored in double figures in 18 games last season, while recording five or more assists in 23 games. The rising senior also recorded a 12-point, 10-assist, and 10-rebound triple-double against Trevecca Nazarene on January 29, 2026 after putting together a 19-point, 10-assist, and seven-steal performance against the Trojans earlier in the year on December 13, 2025.
Brown Jr. will be one of the favorites for the GSC Player of the Year award as he leads a West Alabama team that was picked to finish first in the GSC Preseason Poll.
Brown Jr. and the Tigers will begin their 2026-27 campaign at home on November 13 with a matchup against Lane College.
