LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Basketball team has been announced as a recipient of the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award while BJ Brown Jr., Caleb Parr, Amillion Buggs, Jakobe Singleton, and Tristan Watson were named to the Honors Court.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The NABC's academic awards are presented annually to teams and athletes from all levels of college basketball.
As a team, West Alabama garnered a 3.13 team GPA to secure this special NABC acknowledge.
Individually, Brown Jr. earns a spot on the honors court, by accumulating a 3.62 GPA as an Accounting major. As for Parr, he solidified his status on the Honors Court after turning in a 3.51 GPA, majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications. Buggs is also a major in Integrated Marketing Communications and accumulated a 3.21 GPA. Singleton and Watson are Interdisciplinary Studies majors and recorded GPAs of 3.20 and 3.84, respectively, to round out UWA's representatives on the Honors Court.
