LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Women's Track and Field's J'Da Williams was named the GSC Freshman of the Week on Wednesday.
Williams, a true freshman from Athens, Alabama, has quickly become one of the top sprinters in the region.
Williams competed in the 60m event at the UAB Green and White Invite this past Saturday and finished with a time of 7.52 seconds. The freshman's time broke the school record and currently stands as the 19th best time in the country.
This season, Williams has turned in times of 7.69, 7.63, and now a blistering 7.52 seconds in the 60m event, making her a prime contender in the GSC Championships which will take place on February 19-20.
Williams and will be back in action on Saturday for the Samford Open.
